Our Work with Ethnic Minority Groups

At Trauma Healing Together, we understand that the journey of healing can be even more challenging for individuals from ethnically diverse communities. Many face not only the effects of trauma but also isolation, language barriers, and the difficulties of adapting to a new life in Scotland. That’s why we created Stepping Stones for New Scots, a six-week wellbeing program for asylum seekers and refugees living in Perth.

Through this program, participants received culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support that went beyond traditional therapy. In 2025, 53 individuals were able to build resilience, improve their mental wellbeing, and connect with a community that truly understands their experiences. Each story of progress, however small, represents hope, courage, and the power of support.

Building on this success, we are excited to launch a revamped 10 week wellbeing program in the New Year. This program is designed for anyone from ethnic minority backgrounds who has experienced psychological trauma. To make it even more culturally sensitive, we are running separate streams for men and women, providing a safe and supportive space where participants can feel comfortable, be themselves, and access help more effectively.

We are proud to offer a program that not only supports mental health but also nurtures a sense of belonging, empowerment, and hope. Every client’s journey reminds us why this work matters! Because healing is not just about coping, it’s about thriving in the life you deserve.
