Our Pathways to Hope project is designed to support trauma survivors build resilience and heal from trauma. Our goal is to create a place where you feel heard and validated. A place which helps you to build confidence and move towards a point in your life where you feel in control of your trauma rather than the other way about.

What does the project involve?

As part of Pathways to Hope, you will be offered:

  • 24 sessions of trauma-focused counselling

  • 16 weeks of group wellbeing sessions

  • Support for up to a year after completion

  • Training opportunities

  • Opportunity to become a Peer Group Facilitator

As part of the group wellbeing sessions, you will be given the opportunity to engage in 3 or 4 different types of activities. These activities will be focused on helping you identify future goals and build resilience and confidence. We hope by the end of the sessions you will have a better insight into your interests, life goals and passions as well as having discovered new ways to manage your mental health.

The groups are facilitated by previous clients and activities are delivered by local partner organisations. Some of the activities that our previous clients have participated in includes:

  • Yoga

  • Photography

  • Confidence Building

Pathways to Hope is delivered on a face to face basis at our offices in Perth and as part of the project, clients will be expected to attend both the group and counselling element.

We strongly believe that people shouldn't have to jump through hoops to receive support which is why we have tried to make the referral process as simple as possible. Simply fill in our form, which should only take a few minutes, and our team will get in touch within a few weeks to offer you a 30 minute initial intake session to discuss the project with you further.

The only criteria that needs to be met in order to be accepted on to the project is that you must have experienced some form of trauma which has had a negative impact on your mental health, be over the age of 18 and live in Scotland.

Unfortunatley, due to high demand for our service, we have had to temporary close our referrals. We hope to open it back up as soon as possible. If you would like to be kept updated about this, please sign up to our Newsletter which you can do at the bottom of this page.

We also have our online Stepping Stones course which starts on the 19th September. More details can be found HERE.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

From the start I was scared, of what was going to come. I feel I have grown so much and feel pride in myself for the first time for showing up. The sessions that were offered have been amazing and very clever on how they work alongside counselling sessions. Each one I questioned myself alot that I never thought of before. Realised alot more about myself. I now know why it's called positive pathways to hope.

I have found my journey with trauma healing unique, effective and fully engaging. I felt listened to in both my counselling session and in the well-being sessions. Every session has been worthwhile and greatly improved my life and the way I look upon it. I have gained improvement in my anxiety levels and have new coping strategies. I definitely recommend taking some time to think about how trauma healing could help you, as it’s definitely worth the effort and time to commit to yourself to help you through the journey of life.

The very first session I couldn’t wait to get out of there, hated groups and didn’t like being around people but after 2-3 weeks I started to relax and enjoy the sessions. The 2 facilitators were so helpful and supportive every single week. I am so grateful for the opportunity to take part.
