Pathways to Hope

Pathways to Hope is designed to support trauma survivors build resilience and heal from trauma. Our goal is to create a place where you feel heard and validated. A place which helps you to build confidence and move towards a point in your life where you feel in control of your trauma rather than the other way about.

What does the project involve?

The project involves:

  • 24 sessions of trauma-focused counselling

  • 16 weeks of group wellbeing sessions

  • Support for up to a year after completion

  • Training opportunities

As part of the group wellbeing sessions, you will be given the opportunity to engage in 3 or 4 different types of activities. These activities will be focused on helping you identify future goals and build resilience and confidence. We hope by the end of the sessions you will have a better insight into your interests, life goals and passions as well as having discovered new ways to manage your mental health.

We try to work with each group to decide the specific activities that will be delivered during the 16 weeks. Some of the activities we can currently offer include:

  • Creative writing

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Yoga

  • Photography

  • Confidence Building

  • Nutrition and health

  • Sleep management

  • Fencing

We are now accepting referrals for our next group which will be delivered in Perth. If you are interested in attending, you can self refer here.

The only criteria that needs to be met in order to be accepted on to the project is that you must have experienced some form of trauma which has has had a negative impact on your mental health.

“It was nice to have a regular group to attend, it was also nice to experience things that would usually be out of your comfort zone. I liked getting to try out yoga in a small personal group environment and liked that the group activities were laid back and relaxed.”
