Service Description
Hatha Yoga is about connecting the mind and body. We will learn how to use our breath and body to create energy and awareness. Each element of the workshop can be adapted to suit everyone and together, we will explore how you can adapt to suit your needs and abilities. The session will be informal and relaxed so everyone feels comfortable and engaged. We will end the session with a Yoga Nidra practice which is also known as sleeping Yoga. We will explore meditation through Yoga Nidra. What to expect each week: Session 1: Introduction to Hatha Yoga. This session will focus on gentle movement and breathwork followed by a short Yoga Nidra session. All movement can be adapted to suit each individual. Use of a chair is welcomed. Session 2: Developing Yoga skills. In this session, you will explore further movements and breathwork to identify what you enjoy and what feels good for you. We will then enhance the Yoga Nidra Meditation for a deeper practice Session 3: Consolidating our skills. In this session, you will continue to develop your ability to move your body using Yoga poses and end with a longer Yoga Nidra practice. Session 4: Empowering the individual. You will learn to feel what is right for your mind and their body through Yoga and relaxation. This will be an open, exploratory Yoga session with a guided relaxation. Session 5: This will be a reflective session focusing on evaluating what coping skills, if any, you have taken from the module. We will also add to our scrapbooks.
