Kirsty Paterson - Trainee Counsellor
Kirsty is in her final year of the Master's in Counselling at Abertay University. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and has worked in Education for the last 17 years, supporting learners from early years through to higher education. In her teaching, she was drawn to supporting students with Additional Support Needs and continues to do so. Her teaching was influenced by a trauma informed approach, with developing a safe and supportive relationship at the core. Kirsty strongly believes in equity and equality - everyone deserves the same chance at a fulfilling life and should have what they need to grow. She believes counselling may be a way to such growth, and everyone should have the chance to access the benefits it can bring to life. She is a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and works in a way that upholds their ethical code of conduct.
